I am a sophmore in high school taking latin, and I have a very keen interest in learning languages and in languages in general. I am doing very well in latin, but I wish to learn Portuguese and Italian before I die lol. Maybe even Spanish and Dutch. I am also fluent in Urdu (Pakistani language) and Hindi (because it is so similar to Urdu). So anyone can give me any tips or approximates or just any information? Thanx
Like other italian words gender is important. You’d tell a female “stai zitta”. You’d tell more than one person “state Zitti” My grandmother grew up in a house with a mother from Abruzzo and a father from Napoli – their family insisted on speaking english in the house. However she did pick up many words, one of which was her dialect saying “shut up”. She’d say “state zitt” (english phonetically would be stut-uh zeet). — Thanks for watching — Remember, mean comments will not be approved, so don’t waste your time. On second thought, I do find them kind of funny in a sad and pathetic way, so go ahead if you feel like it, thing is I’ll just click delete and block you afterward. The choice is yours. Rosetta stone is too expensive as well as private lessons, also the colleges in my area do not offer italian. I am moving to Italy in november and need to learn as much as I can by then. anyone know of any websites or cheaper programs? All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

After verbs in -are and -ere here we go with verbs in -ire. They almost have the same endings with the ones in -ere even if you will see that most of verbs of the third conjugation add an -isc- suffix… it’s easy though =P. In the next lessons we will focus more on Italian sentences and expressions . If you have any questions you can send me a message or contact me on skype (even if from 03-30-2009 to 04-05-2009 i’ll go off to Greece I’ll try to answer your questions as fast as i can). Enjoy watching =D!

I went on this site before and i dont remember what it’s called… All it was was free online italian lessons, but it was a really good site. it taught you the words, you could read it and hear it, and later it quized you on it so you could see how much you know. Once your sure you knew all of it you could even do an online exam. all this was entirely free. The only thing i can think of about the name is that it might’ve had the word ‘fish’ in it…any ideas?
I would like to learn Italian online. Can anyone recommend a programme?
The lessons MUST be visual. If they are only audio I will quickly lose my concentration.
Learning Italian Like Crazy seemed like a good programme, but after I waded through the very verbal explanation on their website, I discovered that the lessons are only audio.
Thanks for your help.
if it takes a long time or even years then is there any way to learn it in less time?
