I have an Asian male friend from Italy who speaks fluent Italian. He is teacher over there. When he came to the US to visit he was surprised by the way White American women treated him. He said that he felt they have something against Asian men. Although he treated all White women he met like ladies with common courtesy and respect; they didn’t reciprocate. They were rude to him because he’s Asian. Why were they so hostile to him ? I thought that being Italian is a good thing and the guy is an Italian national with an Italian passport.

I just entered seventh grade, and started Italian. I’m doing pretty well, and have memorized about half of the phrases we learned in the past week or so (which is about twenty-five in total).
Is there anything to do to make learning this second language easier? Tips and tricks, from personal experience would be extremely helpful. (=
I only have the class a period each day (50 minutes)…Nobody at home speaks Italian sadly. Although when in class, the teacher speaks minimal English too us.
I’m and education major and in my elementary music class we’re doing multicultural presentations and my group is doing Italy, I’m doing the music part and I chose the tarentella, i was wondering what kind of lesson i could do with the song….teaching the dance is too hard. thanks!
tarentella means taranchula(a spider) in italian. the song is about a spider.

With today’s word of the day we’ve decided to give you two versions of “I don’t know”. Proper italian is “Non lo so”. However, it can also be said “Che ne saccio”. “Boh” is used quite a bit. It basically means, “I don’t know/are you really expecting me to answer that?”. Comments/corrections are encouraged. However, derogatory comments will swiftly bring about a block. Life is to short to deal with assmunches. La vita è troppo breve per trattare coi stronzi. Have a nice day.
In this seventh lesson you will be able to understand if a name or an adjective is singular or plural, masculine of feminine. I know there are many different endings, but it’s not that hard. You can guess if a name is masculine, feminine, singular or plural from the article! So don’t worry… Enjoy =D!

"Hamas has committed terrorist acts, but it is also a movement of the people. For the West not to recognize a government that was democratically elected … it is not a very good lesson in democracy," said Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D’Alema.
When I’m studying a new language, like Italian, how can I let it sink in more? I always seem to forget what I’ve learned within a month. Maybe I’m not too consistent with it.. Is it not a good thing to study it before bed, in case you sleep it off? What other tips can you give me to learn a language, and stay fluent in it afterwards?
I want to learn how to speak fairly fluent italian in 3 months or less. If anyone knows any good books and tapes to learn from. I don’t want anything really expensive. If it takes a little longer to learn thats okay but I want to be fluent and leartn as fast as possible.
meant learn* i wrote something like leatrn that was a typo.
Haha well as I can see 3 months I wouldn’t be speaking well at all. But I want to learn as fast as possible.
